Bridge to the Doctorate

 

The University of Oklahoma is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill Bridge to the Doctorate Fellowship positions. Selected students will begin receiving program support Fall 2013.

Bridge to Doctorate Brochure

 

The Bridge to the Doctorate program began in 2004 with Oklahoma State University (OSU) as Cohort II followed by The University of Oklahoma (OU) in 2005 as Cohort III. In 2008, OSU began Cohort III, and in 2009, OU received an award for Cohort IV. All programs began with 12 former LSAMP Scholars pursuing advanced degrees in STEM disciplines. Overall, 30 Master of Science degrees and 6 Doctor of Philosophy degrees (one to a Native American in Civil Engineering and one to an African American in Biochemistry) have been awarded. Additionally 29 Fellows are currently completing requirements for the MS/PhD and 19 Fellows accepted jobs in industry after completing MS degrees.

 

Several Cohort V BD Fellows traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend the 2012 Joint Annual Meeting.
